The Trusted Traveler Enrollment Center is now open at Pittsburgh International Airport. Enrolling for the TSA PreCheck at the Center will allow you to bypass the long TSA / customs check lines, as well as keep your jacket and shoes on.
Here is some more detailed information from the Pittsburgh International Airport:
The joint Transportation Security Administration (TSA)/U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) application center is located in the landside terminal, ticketing level, just across from the US Airways ticket counter.
The TSA PreCheck application center is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Global Entry application center is open from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 pm weekdays, except Wednesdays, when CBP will staff the enrollment center from 1:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Walk-in appointments for the TSA PreCheck application center will be honored on a first come, first served-basis; pre-enrollment at tsa.gov is recommended. Pre-enrollment for Global Entry is required.
Directions: From the airport parking lots, follow the overhead and display signs for DHS Trusted Traveler. The signage will point to a door with a “Department of Homeland Security” seal on it.
The PreCheck allows for faster screening at over 100 airports nationwide, allowing you to keep your jacket, shoes and belt on, your laptop in its case, and your 3-1-1 compliant liquids in your carry-on. Global Entry allows you to bypass the passport control line and go directly to the automated kiosks when returning to the United States.
While the TSA PreCheck costs $85 every five years, the Global Entry costs $100 every five years and includes all the benefits of the PreCheck.
